A Cross-Cultural Drone Soccer Event in Nagoya
On March 30, 2025, the Drone Soccer Korea–Japan Exchange Match was held at the Ōharu Town Sports Center in Nagoya, Japan. Hosted by PYC, HELSEL’s official Japanese partner, this event brought together drone soccer players, drone racers, and drone fans from both countries for a full day of friendly yet fierce competition.
From the roar of racing drones to the cheer of the crowd at the soccer arenas, this event showed just how far drone sports have come — and where they’re heading.

Korea’s National Team AlphaSky Steals the Spotlight
Representing South Korea was the youth drone soccer team AlphaSky, composed of players aged 14, 16, and 19.They were selected as Korea’s national team after winning the national trials held in Uiseong, and their talent truly stood out on the international stage in Nagoya.

AlphaSky participated across all three FAI drone soccer classes:
F9A-A CLASS (40cm) – using the powerful STRIKER, featured as a demonstration match
F9A-B CLASS (22cm) – using the agile TIKE, where AlphaSky took first place
F9A-C CLASS (20cm) – using the versatile BALKIN, where they also claimed victory

In every game, AlphaSky showcased outstanding drone control, fast decision-making, and cohesive teamwork — ultimately winning all their matches and sweeping both official competitive categories.

One particularly memorable moment came when a Japanese team’s drone guard broke mid-match. Without hesitation, AlphaSky players and their coach assisted in repairing the damaged unit, allowing the match to continue. It was a clear display of sportsmanship and international camaraderie, reminding everyone that drone sports are not just about competition, but about learning, sharing, and growing together.

Entertainment, Drones, and Star Power
The tournament was more than just drone matches. It was a full-scale drone festival with elements of culture, entertainment, and interaction:

A performance by Japanese idol group Amato Danshi
A special guest appearance from Devi Fujin, a well-known Japanese entertainer
FPV drone racing finals, with top pilots from both countries

Interactive booths where attendees flew HELSEL’s beginner drone FEEBY, perfect for kids and first-time pilots

Tournament Highlights
AlphaSky’s match results:
TIKE Class Champion (22cm, FAI F9A-B)
BALKIN Class Champion (20cm, FAI F9A-C)

More Than Victory – A Shared Vision
